#5 - Earphones & Eardrums

I loooooooooove my iPod.

I loooooooooove it.

It silver, and shiny, and all mine. =) And it's funkier than the
[OLD

version of the iPod nano.

Well, I loved my previous iPod[s] too, but they're spoilt now (I did not intentionally spoil them, no, just apple items don't reaaaallly last long.) , and so I love my shiny silver iPod with the big, wide color screen. And the funky games. I love its sleek, thin design even if it feels to scary to hold. My precioussss.

The screen is now

And the clicker is black!!!

And it's in color!!

Well. I love music so I carry it wherever I go. Almost wherever.  Even when I know I'll have no opportunity to listen to music. =) Like out to dinner with family, and to school, and etc. etc.

-Honestly, this post is going to be short. I don't what to say except I looooooove my iPod. I loooooooooooooooove it. =) -

#4 - Dates & Descriptions

Since I'm supposed to post something about me - I might as well do it now. Or later. Maybe later.

LATER.

ALEXIS' BIRTHDAY IS ON THE 2nd OF DECEMBER SO SHE EXPECTS YOU TO CALL HER/MAIL HER TO WHISH HER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECAUSE IT MAKES HER FEEL HAPPY INSIDE!!!

Alexis doesn't really understand why her friends call her an overachiever because she is actually, in secret, very lazy. She does not study hard-hard-hard like perhaps, say, Kaylyn or Audrey, and she does not enjoy doing work contrary to popular belief. She enjoys making people laugh [because laughing releases endorphins, therefore is good for you, and is highly contagious] by laughing maniacally, loudly, and for no appropriate reason at anything at all. She tries to do everything but usually fails, but people really don't notice it [and she is not sure why.] She likes many, many, many things. Things like:

1)Anime
She loves too many anime to list down, and if you ever engage her in conversation and steer to this topic without meaning to, you will find that she "WILL.NOT.SHUT.UP!!!" - as quoted by friends and family. Also, she has many anime boyfriends. She kindly [kindly] requests that if you want them as boyfriends too, you have to share.

2)Fashion designing
Alexis is hoping to learn how to finally use her brick of a sewing machine to sew the dresses she has designed for Wen Lin, Lyn, Audrey, Fen, etc. and herself in time for the prom in Form 5. Hopefully, someone will teach her, sew the designs for her or give her a new sewing machine for her birthday.

3)Graphics designing
Alexis loves photoshop more than illustrator but can only create simple designs - not big complex designs. And she loves brushes. Also she loves making avatars and banners for use in forums.

eg. of Wallpapers & Avatars:

          - Alexis' good friend Jac Lyn =)
4)Dancing
Alexis likes contemporary and ballroom dance best but enjoys any type of dance. She loves the American SYTYCD
and wants Katee to WIN. She dances Grade 7 ballet but believes she looks a bit like a cross between a hippo and a duck onstage. However, she thinks that the stage/exam hall can take a dancing hippo-duck because she has seen much worse.

5)Singing/Music
Although Alexis loves singing, she isn't very good at it. You may or may not believe her but she can prove it to you. Just ask her. She loves any type of music except the ones where the song is either too high or low pitched and you can't hear anything except a whining sound. She also does not particularly enjoy disney pop like Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers and absolutely dislikes High School Musical.

6)Acting
Alexis loves acting but she isn't going to become an actress. However, if she does, she would like her friends to support her. In exchange she will sign them autographs and get pictures taken with them.

7)Drawing/Coloring & Craft
Alexis enjoys Art and tries to make her proportions realistic. However, her human beings usually end up looking like squirrels. She also enjoys drawing still life because most still life pictures are either wrinkle-free or less wrinkly than clothed humans.

8)Proving that girls ARE, indeed, better than boys

Alexis PARTICULARLY does not agree with Alvin Soo, who, in the inter-house debate 2007 called all girls in the audience (AND THE OPPOSING PANEL.) fat. Alexis quotes: "Girls have been proven to have more BMI in proportion to their size compared to boys." Alexis would like to stress that NO, girls are not naturally FAT, and that girls are better X 10 to the power of 10 to the power of 10 to the power of 10 than BOYS.

9)Reading
Alexis enjoys too many books to list. But she loves reading very very very much. However, books are not cheap so Alexis downloads free books online.

10)Talking very quickly and very noisily when in the right company
Alexis sometimes isn't able to differentiate between 'right company' and 'wrong company'. She just talks a lot anyway.

11)Food
Alexis loves food. If you didn't know that, then you aren't fit to be her friend.

12)Good food
Alexis likes good food, too.

13) Junk Food
Alexis particularly likes Shapes, anything that is sour cream & onion flavored, fast-food shops, and high class overseas junk food. But Malaysian junk food is fine as well.

14)Food that is in between 'food' and 'good food'
If you do not get the point by now, then yes. Alexis is  food-a-holic.

15)Money [She is NOT materialistic. She is REALISTIC.]
Alexis wouldn't spend ALL the money. She is a kind and caring person, so some would go to charities and some to buy presents for her friends and some for her college fund.

16)Watching TV Dramas
If you didn't already know, Alexis has a tendency to become obsessed with a TV show at a time. Right now, her obsession is Bones. However, she has been obsessed with many shows, like CSI:NY, Grey's Anatomy, House, Ugly Betty, and Heroes. She believes that Heroes is boring now, though. And she wants to boycott Grey's Anatomy for firing Burke [Isaiah Washington] because he was Cristina's [Sandra Oh, who is very, very, pretty] BEST love interest. In fact, she IS boycotting Grey's Anatomy, because Addison [Kate Walsh] has moved to a different show(Private Practice). She begs everyone else to boycott GA with her. She is complaining that the drama has become too....Meredith-thy. Which is bad.

16)Saving the Environment
Alexis thinks that Saving The Environment is GOOD, and that we don't do it enough. So everyone must buy three recycling bins and UTILIZE them. Alexis hates animal cruelty, animal abuse, and environmental abuse. She would like to remind everyone NOT TO EAT SHARKS FIN, and if you ask her why she will sit and talk to you for 2 hours straight. So ask her only if you have the time.

17)Animals
She even likes the non-cute ones. Like snakes. Alexis thinks snakes are cool. However, they are not cool if they bite you. She likes elephants, tigers, bears, lions, dolphins, and everything else. She does not like touching fish very much, though. But if she had to, she could. The only bug she can't really stand much are dragonflies. Alexis is terrified of dragonflies.

18) World Peace
Because Alexis thinks that everyone should want this.

18)Pets
Alexis has always wanted a dog, but she thinks she's never gonna get one, because her house is never fully completed.

#3 - Candles & Cake

Who's birthday is up next? Audrey's?

=)

This is a heads-up. We're going to plan something special, Dree!!! Which, of course, will not be disclosed here. Don't be silly.

candle | 'kandl | .noun: a cylinder or a block of wax or tallow with a central wick that is lit to produce light as it burns. ~

I love fire. And playing with matchsticks. And with candles. And it's always a turn off to know that the pretty, shining candles on my delicious looking cake is made up of pretty-but-inedible wax. [Hey, it could be worse, they used to be made of tallow.] New, edible types of candles should be invented. Then I can eat the whole cake without missing out anything.

Blowing out the candles on your cake is the absolute best part. For me, that is. For as long as I can remember, I've never really made a wish before I blow. My main objective is to blow out the candles in one blow. Which is cool if you space all the candles out far away from each other. And there was one time when I celebrated my birthday in TGIF, and they made me stand on a chair to blow my candles out on the cake [the incentive was: No cake until you blow out the candles. Smart.]

I'm not a big fan of those pink-and-white candles that I always see on cakes. Come on, people! Be creative!! Get funky-colored candles. Blue and Yellow. Pink and Purple. Or, better still, get those sparklies. You know, the ones that fizz and sparkle on the cake instead of just burn away sedately. Now those are fun. Especially with the lights dimmed down. I've never had them on my cake, though. [This is a hint. Guys. I want a cake with sparkly candles for my birthday. That shouldn't be too hard.]

As for the cake itself, I say chocolate cake is the best. Along with butter cake. Simple and delicious. What really makes or breaks a birthday cake is the ICING. Oh, yes. Icing. Mmmmm. I love icing. [There are many things I love in life. Food makes up oh, about, 80 %.] Icing has to be lemony, sweet, colorful, and THICK. LATHER it on the cake. Too much icing is a GOOD thing, people. Sometimes hard icing is better. [There's soft icing, then there's hard icing. But icing is icing is icing is icing, so.] Then you can bite it, and then it melts in your mouth.

I do enjoy ice cream cake, though. The only downside to it is that you have to SHARE. And it's so small for such an expensive cake. It's an injustice to ice-cream lovers. They just can't make the best out of one measly piece. Seriously.

And this is making me hungry.

Til the next post!!

Alexis Lee.

#2 - Bones & Books

So! Here's my newest obsession. [This happens regularly - very regularly. Not to worry. It shan't affect my studies - much.]

Bones is created by Hart Hanson based on the book series by Kathy Reichs [I love the books, too. Latest  one in the series is Devil Bones.

 Go read!!!

BONES is a show about FBI agent Seeley Booth [David Boreanz] and his partner forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. (Emily Deschanel) [And yes, I am obsessed.] This show has EVERYTHING I love. Mystery, drama, action, hints of romance, and it doesn't involve scandals like in The O. C. or Gossip Girls or you know, shows in that particular vein. Besides that, there's a lot of witty banter [And you know how much that means to me =)] and intimidating, long, hard to pronounce-and-spell words. Words like phalanges (Psst! That means fingers.) and metacarpals (any bone in the hands) and fractures of the C-5 vertebrae and etc.

Basically, the two of them - that's them in the picture over there - run around solving mysteries. [Well, not running around per se, just, you know. Running.] She's very scientific about everything, hates psychology, loves examining old, 100-year old remains, loves guns for some absurd reason, doesn't get most references to pop culture,

 [one example being,
"Spit in my hand, we're Scully and Mulder."
"....I don't know what that means."]

and she can't stand his alpha-male tendencies. [That's what she calls them. His alpha-male tendencies!]

Now: He's a person who's all heart as opposed to her being all brains, goes with his gut feelings and is basically FBI eye candy. And yes. I suppose he has what she calls alpha-male tendencies. [Which, in everyone but her case makes him very desirable, thank you.]

So when these two meet sparks fly. Gunshots fly, too. [In the shooting range. That is. And then there was the time where she accidentally shot him, but that comes later.]
She goes with him because she loves being out in the field instead of being shut up in the Jeffersonian Institute

[That's where she works, by the way, and that's some of the cool equipment they show onscreen.]

and he accepts that she and her team of 'squints' will always be smarter than him when it comes to solving mysteries.

SQUINTS ARE:-

There's Jack Hodgins - the 'bug and slime guy' who believes that the government is always in this huge conspiracy theory,
[played by TJ Thyne]

Angela, Brennan's best friend and their resident victim-faces-drawing person [to help identify the victim. She also reconstructs destroyed evidence like letters, tattoos and the like. She has this cool machine called the Angelator - which, sadly, does not exist in real life.] She believes that she is the most normal of them all in the lab. Which is, for the most part, true.
[played by Michaela Conlin]

Then there's Zack Addy [Played by Eric Millegan] - Brennan's loyal assistant with even less understanding of social life than Brennan herself. Example being,

[Zack: *Holds his fist up to bump hands* ......You're supposed to...bang your fist against mine.
Brennan: ...Why?!
Zack: I'm told it's a widely accepted gesture for mutual success...
Angela: I love it, when you two try to impersonate earthlings. ]

Lastly, there's Dr. Camille Saroyan [played by Tamara Taylor]- their boss and she deals with 'Flesh. Not bones.'

SO, yeah. I love the show. Really, really love. Its five stars out of five for this one. I find this better than House or CSI because the quality doesn't go down after the first few seasons. But maybe that's just me. Just give it a shot anyway.

This is ALEXIS LEE writing off!

#1 - Alexis & Anything

Basically, I'm actually pleased to write in this blog because my baby [the CEMPAKA SCHOOL BLOG.] hasn't been functioning. It's disappointing, really, because I had so much that I planned to write when school started and now I've got nowhere to post it in until the blogs come back on again.

So what I've been doing so far? Well, lazing around, sort of in a daze. A blurry daze. A dazzey blur. But I'm much more hardworking than I was last year. I mean, I actually attempted to study. [note use of word:attempted. Doesn't mean I succeeded.] And it hasn't even been two weeks yet! Oh, happy day.

So. What else can I say?

Oh, yeah. BYE WEN LIN!!! WE'll MISS YOU!!!! VISIT US OFTEN!!!

And who besides me are looking forward to our sweet sixteens this year? I know I am. I know you are, too. It's sweet sixteen, baby. With the big bash and etc., etc.

Okay. I'm pretty sure I meet the amount of words required. Next post, please. =)

Signing out!
