#61 - We Are The Pretty Petty Things.

So. What did I do this weekend?

Friday (Fun fun fun fun fun) : Sleep. Sleep. Eat. Study Media&Comm (very minimally. )

Saturday : Sleep. Sleep. Wake up. Go shopping with Dree/Jason. Watch them buy jackets/shirts/bags/scarves. Bought awesome red jacket, hooray. Bought present for sister. Bought ice cream. Study economics. Eat apple. Call family. Watch Bones. Watch BBT. Watch HIMYM. Sleep.

Sunday : Sleep. Sleep. Wake up. Go shopping with Dree/Jason/WaiYip/Frank but mostly Jac. Made Jac try jackets. Made Jac try jackets. Make Jac try jackets. Watch Jac buy two jackets. And a crop jacket. Bought a crop jacket. (It was on sale you know don't blame me.) Eat pancakes. Steal pancakes from WaiYip cause he couldn't finish. Got cheated out of a coke by my stupid Hoyts reward card. Got forced into paying for my supposed free coke by my stupid Hoyts reward card. Watched Source code. Ogled Jake Gyllenhaal. Ogled Jake Gyllenhaal. Ogled - yeah. Source Code is awesome, really awesome. Really.

Source Code! Is Awesome!

Yes. Although it's completely mindblowing. The end makes sense, then doesn't make sense, then - oh - what's this? It makes sense. But does it?

You never really quite get it.

On the other hand, what up! with that superbomb in Bones?!?! WHAT?! So unexpected. Oh I won't spoil things. Really, but WHAT?

--Did you know that HIMYM is contracted for another TWO seasons? TWO? Like Dree says. We'll never get to meet the mother. Never ever ever.

AGH! All the awesome TV Shows are going on their breaks now! Its a conspiracy I tell you! What can I do to occupy myself for another - oh - three or so months?!?! Find me a new series, anybody!

~ Maybe I should start rewatching Grey's Anatomy? You know, lift my boycott-ment of it? I mean, Cristina is still awesome. Right. She's the reason why I watch Grey's in the first place, because well, Meredith, Izzie, George (Oh good, he's been killed off!), Callie and many, many, many other people annoyed me.)

I miss snacks. Like. Snacks. Cheezels! I just don't buy as many snacks here. Okay, maybe biscuits. But you know. They're biscuits. Really. I used to only eat biscuits with unhealthy stuff, like garlic butter and milo and stuff. Now I'm boring and I just eat biscuits, and dip. (Okay, the dip is awesome - legen - wait for it - dary). Spinach and nut dip, Pesto, Carrot and coriander, Eggplant dip, yummmmmm. :D

Agh! Roti canai! Tosai!

And internet connection!

Gah I've got so study for exams in superadvance. No. WHY! WHY ARE YOU GUYS COMING DURING EXAM TIME?!?! XD

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow. It's already NEXT saturday! and NEXT sunday! And Jason and Frank really have nothing better to do than to go to the library and study! And drag me into it! And that's unbelievable, because I really am not a studying sort of person! Wait - overuse of exclamation points! What up!

Bought a TON of dip. Namely, six boxes. How awesome and legenwaitforitdary is that?

Well, it is. It's awesome. And it tastes good, too.

Funfact: Getting hit by a tram is like getting hit by a rhino on a SKATEBOARD.

Now, besides being awesome, that fact is EPIC. Haha. I mean, its always been my dream to experience getting hit by a rhino on a skateboard. Look, even the mental image just cracks me up!

-----------------

Hey actually, today's Wednesday. :D And I survived economics. Better than that, I stayed awake. Guys, its a special moment in history. Pigs have flown, hell has frozen and you know other unbelievable stuff. I NEVER STAY AWAKE DURING ECONOMICS. But I did.

OMG DO YOU THINK I'M IN SOME PARALLEL REALITY A LA SOURCE CODE OR SOMETHING THAT'S WHY I STAYED AWAKE?

No.

OMG JUST GOTTA TELL YOU SOMETHING OKAY DON'T LAUGH OKAY.

I locked myself out of my room. At one in the morning. To shower, so I was locked out with a towel and soap. And my iPad, cause I'm crazy and I carry that everywhere. So, yeah. :D

Hooray! I know right! Go Alexis!

Haha. Crashed on a borrowed air mattress, with a borrowed spare blanket, with a borrowed spare pillow, in a friend's room. Woke up at six wrapped in the blanket to go downstairs and ask for the key please :)

Anyway, it's two days to Friday -->

- which means, two days to the 27th, which is the day my internet resets - wooohooo! partying, partying (Rebecca Black speaks only the truth I tell you)
- and two days to my due date for M&C assignment! And after that, (fun fun fun fun fun fun)
- And four days to when I can buy my dips n' juice at VicMarket again! (looking forward to the weekend!)

Oooo look my post so colourful I'm back to using colours again.

#45 - Well, we're here...because we're here...

And I sure as hell don't like where I am.

It's 2010 people.

Dekita.

Are you rrrrready for moare skoooollllllll???

(The answer is no.

no.

no.

no.

no.

never.)

Hello exams.

I've got so many grievances about this year so I'm honestly not going to post about them and make me even MORE depressed. Life is bitter enough. Really bitter. Like bittergourd soup kind of bitter. Trust me, that's really, really, really bitter.

Bleargh.

It's funny that most people use their blogs as a source to pour out their feelings and annoyances and things that sound really emo and stuff...because looking back at my posts, my outpourings are all of the crack-sugar kind, or the crazy kind, or the stressful exams kind. Wow. But you know, it feels weird writing about BAD things on your blog when other people see them.

xxxxxxx

I'm a Scrooge. I didn't wish anyone a merry christmas. =o

I'm a ... eh, what's the word for people who don't wish other people a happy new year?

Oh, sue me if I'm not too happy about my happy new year. We're all going to die in 2012 anyway (that was a sucky movie by the way.)

xxxxxxx

Speaking about movies,

AVATAR

IS

AMAZING.

Watched it in Thailand. Loved it in Thailand.

Sam Worthington is a-hawt-mancandy-man. When he turns blue, this is not the case, but when he is human-

Mwahahahahahaahahahah. He should be afraid. I shall stalk him, oh yes I shall.

(P.S. I wanna be a Tarukh-rider. Big badass birdie with megateeth which rules the skies, oh yes. WAY better than dragons-so LAST century!!! =D )

(P.P.S. which sounds better, Tarukh-rider or Last-Shadow-Rider? That's the english translation of course. Last shadow. Whooooo. I like the ring of that. =D )

Ohwhat'sthis? AVATAR'S GONNA HAVE TWO SEQUELS?

oooooooooooooooooo.

But he's going to be ALL blue now.

nooooooooooooooooo.

If you want a proper review....well, we'll see about that when school starts. Maybe you'll see a review on the YJC, because someone definitely has to review this spectacular movie.

(insert a billion trillion stars rating) The BEST Movie I've Seen In A Long, Long, Time. Totally worth the queue, and TOTALLY worth waiting for in 3-D.

xxxxxxxx

And to Tim, who wants to know about TV series...well. I'm really not the whole gossip girl stuff so don't expect a load of that. What's up for my TV this year is:-

Vampire Diaries.
Going to check this out and if it's good, then it's going to be an addiction.

Big Bang Theory S3
This everyone has to see. =)

Bones S5
Downloading...AS I TYPE. =o

CSI:NY ..Everything from S3
Because I'm such a loser and I haven't watched everything yet.

Glee
Well, well, well. The music is what matters isn't it. =) But it's true that everything else is just lame and boring.

House
Maybe I'll keep at this one. I've heard that House gets together with Cuddy. Oh wow, peoples. This is amazing. I think I'm converted from Cameron/House to a Cuddy person, now.

There is more. But this is the basic list.

And I am so totally going to watch the Sherlock Holmes movie. YES.

Oh, and maybe start watching Criminal Minds, too.

Buh-bye for now.

#43 - Might As Well JUMP!!!

GLEE.

TV SERIES. Still remember it from my previous post?

Well I like the MUSIC.

Well I LOVE the music.

It's the best part of the show, I hate everyone else in it and all the characters and everything. But the music is SOOOOO good, it's worth watching the show for.

So, watch it. Or download the music. Good enough. But for the real music experience you're going to have to suffer through a bit of watching the show as well. Just watch the parts you want to watch and that's it. (Well it's what I've been doing.)

THE MUSIC is AWESOME.

Most songs are even better than the original versions.

And some of them can really sing.

Glee music makes my dayyy~

Ohwell back to anime.

Lalala~the other blog... =)

#34 - In Macau There Is Nothing But Gambling, also known as The Weekend Alexis Skipped Lunch Chem To Go To Macau.

just a city boy
born and raised in south Detroit
he took the midnight train going anywhere....
-------♥------

Yup, before I talk about Macau, I'm going to obsess about some things. The first thing is GLEE.

Heee!! (wow, rhymes with Glee.) It's the new it TV show that's packed with music. [yayyyy.]

JUST a singer in a smoky room
the smell of wine and cheap perfume
for a smile they can share the night
it goes on, and on, and on, and on....
-------♥------

I know its a little HSM, but although it shares HSM-ish plot, I sense that the characters and going to be developed well enough that it will be an enjoyable series to watch. Hey, it's only on its pilot episode, so we'll have to wait for the rest of the episodes to really judge. But so far, although the humour is relatively shallow and the male/female leads pretty but annoying, I'm interested to see how they'll spin the plot and develop the characters.

On the plus side, the music is FANTASTIC. Their rendition of Rehab is better than Amy Winehouse's one, in my opinion, and the lyrics all over this page is the song that's stuck in my head right now called Don't Stop Believin' even though its ala HSM. It sounds HSM when you listen to it, I know, but give it a try.

stangers waiting up and down the boulevard
that shadows search in the night
streetlight people living just to find emotion
hiding somewhere in the night...
-------♥------

Well there are some rather annoying things that I notice even in the pilot. It's the fact that most of the characters annoy me to no end. Like I said - it's a shallow show - but with a potentially great plotline. I'm liking the teacher, he's one of the only characters I like after watching the pilot episode. Hmmm.

workin' hard to get my fill
everybody wants the thrill
paying anything to roll the dice just
one more time
-------♥------

Well so. Where did I get the first episode from? Hee. I'm sorry Audrey. When I borrowed your laptop to type out the emcee text for assembly I saw your video file and couldn't resist. =D Yay!

and now the movie never ends, it goes
on and on, and on, and on....
-------♥------

Well, if it's anything, these actors sound really good when they sing. I don't know if its a different person singing or anything, but whomever is singing sounds really good. I especially like the lead female's voice - it's her character I find extremely annoying in the not good kind of way. Soooo.....yeah....Hee. =)

don't stop believing
hold on to that feeling
streetlight people...
-------♥------

....maybe we could sing this song for talentime next year? =D It's be superduper awesome if we could get it right.

YAY!

Lets talk about Macau now!

1) The people there are crazy [about gambling.]
2) The people there are rude. [and crazy, like taxi drivers, who scold you in mandarin that you obviously DON'T understand when you ask for a receipt.]
3) The people there wear slippers and shorts and basketball singlets into the casino.
4) The food there is yummy.
5) The things there are EXPENSIVE.
6) The hotel is sooooo fake. I stayed in the Venetian. It pretends to be Venice inside a large air-con dome. It's so incredibly lame. They even have canals inside and have gondola rides [pay first of course] and its SUPER FAKE and you can see all the people are so impressed and I'm at the side going '....whaaatttt........' =_="
7) The hotel is huge like nobody's business. It also CONVENIENTLY has the casino smack in the middle of it, and since casino + kids = NOT ALLOWED we have to walk around the casino into the mall and walk some more and walk some more until we walk across the casino using the mall and finally get to our rooms.
8) Any weather forecast which says Macau and Hong Kong are rainy and stormy and cool and cloudy is LYING [sheeshdarnit.] IT WAS (lalallalalalalala) HOT. Like OHTHESUNITBURNS HOT.
9) There is nothing to do in Macau. Unless you like gambling. Or walking around in the sun. Or gambling. Or walking around in the [burning] sun trying to pretend that you are sightseeing. Not so easy to accomplish, since there is NOTHING to sightsee.

Dad: Oh look its the ruins of that famous church in Macau which -I do not remember the name of- now!!!
Me: ah. *Squints* *sooooo interesting.*
Dad: Since we're here we might as well take a picture.
Me: Mh. *Squints* *yawwwnnnn*
Dad: Turn around and One two SMILEEE!!!
Me, ala Boon Hoe: AHH MY EYES!! THE SUN IT BURNS!!!

10) The sound system in the Venetian sucks. Bigtime.

Sooooo....yeah. If you want to know about the concerts, read my article on the Lumen Student in about...two weeks. =)

going now.
Alexis.

#2 - Bones & Books

So! Here's my newest obsession. [This happens regularly - very regularly. Not to worry. It shan't affect my studies - much.]

Bones is created by Hart Hanson based on the book series by Kathy Reichs [I love the books, too. Latest  one in the series is Devil Bones.

 Go read!!!

BONES is a show about FBI agent Seeley Booth [David Boreanz] and his partner forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. (Emily Deschanel) [And yes, I am obsessed.] This show has EVERYTHING I love. Mystery, drama, action, hints of romance, and it doesn't involve scandals like in The O. C. or Gossip Girls or you know, shows in that particular vein. Besides that, there's a lot of witty banter [And you know how much that means to me =)] and intimidating, long, hard to pronounce-and-spell words. Words like phalanges (Psst! That means fingers.) and metacarpals (any bone in the hands) and fractures of the C-5 vertebrae and etc.

Basically, the two of them - that's them in the picture over there - run around solving mysteries. [Well, not running around per se, just, you know. Running.] She's very scientific about everything, hates psychology, loves examining old, 100-year old remains, loves guns for some absurd reason, doesn't get most references to pop culture,

 [one example being,
"Spit in my hand, we're Scully and Mulder."
"....I don't know what that means."]

and she can't stand his alpha-male tendencies. [That's what she calls them. His alpha-male tendencies!]

Now: He's a person who's all heart as opposed to her being all brains, goes with his gut feelings and is basically FBI eye candy. And yes. I suppose he has what she calls alpha-male tendencies. [Which, in everyone but her case makes him very desirable, thank you.]

So when these two meet sparks fly. Gunshots fly, too. [In the shooting range. That is. And then there was the time where she accidentally shot him, but that comes later.]
She goes with him because she loves being out in the field instead of being shut up in the Jeffersonian Institute

[That's where she works, by the way, and that's some of the cool equipment they show onscreen.]

and he accepts that she and her team of 'squints' will always be smarter than him when it comes to solving mysteries.

SQUINTS ARE:-

There's Jack Hodgins - the 'bug and slime guy' who believes that the government is always in this huge conspiracy theory,
[played by TJ Thyne]

Angela, Brennan's best friend and their resident victim-faces-drawing person [to help identify the victim. She also reconstructs destroyed evidence like letters, tattoos and the like. She has this cool machine called the Angelator - which, sadly, does not exist in real life.] She believes that she is the most normal of them all in the lab. Which is, for the most part, true.
[played by Michaela Conlin]

Then there's Zack Addy [Played by Eric Millegan] - Brennan's loyal assistant with even less understanding of social life than Brennan herself. Example being,

[Zack: *Holds his fist up to bump hands* ......You're supposed to...bang your fist against mine.
Brennan: ...Why?!
Zack: I'm told it's a widely accepted gesture for mutual success...
Angela: I love it, when you two try to impersonate earthlings. ]

Lastly, there's Dr. Camille Saroyan [played by Tamara Taylor]- their boss and she deals with 'Flesh. Not bones.'

SO, yeah. I love the show. Really, really love. Its five stars out of five for this one. I find this better than House or CSI because the quality doesn't go down after the first few seasons. But maybe that's just me. Just give it a shot anyway.

This is ALEXIS LEE writing off!
