just a city boy
born and raised in south Detroit
he took the midnight train going anywhere....

Yup, before I talk about Macau, I'm going to obsess about some things. The first thing is GLEE.
Heee!! (wow, rhymes with Glee.) It's the new it TV show that's packed with music. [yayyyy.]
JUST a singer in a smoky room
the smell of wine and cheap perfume
for a smile they can share the night
it goes on, and on, and on, and on....
-------♥------
I know its a little HSM, but although it shares HSM-ish plot, I sense that the characters and going to be developed well enough that it will be an enjoyable series to watch. Hey, it's only on its pilot episode, so we'll have to wait for the rest of the episodes to really judge. But so far, although the humour is relatively shallow and the male/female leads pretty but annoying, I'm interested to see how they'll spin the plot and develop the characters.
On the plus side, the music is FANTASTIC. Their rendition of Rehab is better than Amy Winehouse's one, in my opinion, and the lyrics all over this page is the song that's stuck in my head right now called Don't Stop Believin' even though its ala HSM. It sounds HSM when you listen to it, I know, but give it a try.
stangers waiting up and down the boulevard
that shadows search in the night
streetlight people living just to find emotion
hiding somewhere in the night...

Well there are some rather annoying things that I notice even in the pilot. It's the fact that most of the characters annoy me to no end. Like I said - it's a shallow show - but with a potentially great plotline. I'm liking the teacher, he's one of the only characters I like after watching the pilot episode. Hmmm.
workin' hard to get my fill
everybody wants the thrill
paying anything to roll the dice just
one more time
-------♥------
Well so. Where did I get the first episode from? Hee. I'm sorry Audrey. When I borrowed your laptop to type out the emcee text for assembly I saw your video file and couldn't resist. =D Yay!
and now the movie never ends, it goes
on and on, and on, and on....
-------♥------
Well, if it's anything, these actors sound really good when they sing. I don't know if its a different person singing or anything, but whomever is singing sounds really good. I especially like the lead female's voice - it's her character I find extremely annoying in the not good kind of way. Soooo.....yeah....Hee. =)
don't stop believing
hold on to that feeling
streetlight people...
-------♥------
....maybe we could sing this song for talentime next year? =D It's be superduper awesome if we could get it right.
YAY!
Lets talk about Macau now!
1) The people there are crazy [about gambling.]
2) The people there are rude. [and crazy, like taxi drivers, who scold you in mandarin that you obviously DON'T understand when you ask for a receipt.]
3) The people there wear slippers and shorts and basketball singlets into the casino.
4) The food there is yummy.
5) The things there are EXPENSIVE.
6) The hotel is sooooo fake. I stayed in the Venetian. It pretends to be Venice inside a large air-con dome. It's so incredibly lame. They even have canals inside and have gondola rides [pay first of course] and its SUPER FAKE and you can see all the people are so impressed and I'm at the side going '....whaaatttt........' =_="
7) The hotel is huge like nobody's business. It also CONVENIENTLY has the casino smack in the middle of it, and since casino + kids = NOT ALLOWED we have to walk around the casino into the mall and walk some more and walk some more until we walk across the casino using the mall and finally get to our rooms.
8) Any weather forecast which says Macau and Hong Kong are rainy and stormy and cool and cloudy is LYING [sheeshdarnit.] IT WAS (lalallalalalalala) HOT. Like OHTHESUNITBURNS HOT.
9) There is nothing to do in Macau. Unless you like gambling. Or walking around in the sun. Or gambling. Or walking around in the [burning] sun trying to pretend that you are sightseeing. Not so easy to accomplish, since there is NOTHING to sightsee.
Dad: Oh look its the ruins of that famous church in Macau which -I do not remember the name of- now!!!
Me: ah. *Squints* *sooooo interesting.*
Dad: Since we're here we might as well take a picture.
Me: Mh. *Squints* *yawwwnnnn*
Dad: Turn around and One two SMILEEE!!!
Me, ala Boon Hoe: AHH MY EYES!! THE SUN IT BURNS!!!
10) The sound system in the Venetian sucks. Bigtime.
Sooooo....yeah. If you want to know about the concerts, read my article on the Lumen Student in about...two weeks. =)
going now.
Alexis.
